Myotherapy and Trigger Points
In 2001 I came across some information on the Internet about Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy ®. Bonnie is a remarkable woman who has led the way in the importance of physical fitness. It was later in life that Bonnie developed Myotherapy as a method for addressing pain caused by muscle spasms. It just so happened that there was a myotherapist not too far from where I live. I made an appointment with Mary Lou Maxon (Phone 585-593-5685), a Myotherapist in Wellsville, NY, in the fall of 2001. Mary Lou taught me self-help techniques that include using stretching exercises, a crook and a bodo. I also have found a very handy tool from Ted Liese called a PainStick™. It mounts to the wall or doorway. I use it for the spots that are difficult for me to reach with the crook. I paid $42 plus packaging and shipping for my PainStick™. You can contact Ted at PO Box 681507, Park City, UT 84068 or call 435-901-9237.
